Margaret Carrero has been writing (predominantly poetry) for more than two decades. Margaret discovered her gift for the written word at the tender age of nine when she wrote her first poem to express the sadness she was feeling at the thought of her father flying three-thousand miles from New York to California without her, her mother or her baby brother Larry. Her father had taken the trip to find work and place for them to live but his departure touched a chord in Margaret that, to this day, continues to create melodic rhythms of words from deep within the wellspring of her Spirit. Professionally, Margaret has spent more than 15 years in broadcast radio as an on-air talent, producer, traffic reporter, news reporter and headline news writer. She has performed her poetry at a few Sacramento venues in recent years, but, her passion for writing has never been more vivid than in her first book, WAKE UP A Seed of Thought. WAKE UP A Seed of Thought is Margaret’s first full-length novel which truly is more of a Spiritual biography than anything else because its message clearly and profoundly portrays the possibilities that exist within the Spirit of all Humanity for a Loving and Peaceful existence among all Living Beings. Margaret penned WAKE UP more than two years after her baby brother Larry died from a cancerous brain tumor at the age of 22. WAKE UP is a testament to the very REAL EXISTENCE of God (the Spirit of all creation) in and through all that is living on this earth and the power we all possess to create Great and Glorious change, first within ourselves, then, with all others.
